The Boulder Training Group will meet at North Boulder Park on Tuesday morning at 6:45.  We will focus on skate technique.  6:45 AM at the park

On Wednesday, we will go up to Eldora and focus on classical.  If there are skaters, we will have one coach there for skating, otherwise we'll all do classic.  6:45 AM at the lodge, 7AM, warmed up and ready to go at four corners intersection

The weather is not going as expected in Fraser/Winter Park.  Current conditions as of 3PM Friday were 34F and partly cloudy.  It looks like the cold and snow are not materializing and so it may be advisable to have a second pair with Swix LF7 and be prepared for some warm wax.

It's going to be cold and snowy this weekend, so we've got a lot of info and special sales to keep you warm, toasty and gliding fast.  Thursday's wax clinic topic is Classical technique followed by open wax night where we have benches, irons, tools and expert advice to help you wax your skis and get ready for what is shaping up to be another snowy weekend.

We will be running a 15% off sale on all Swix base layer, outerwear and gloves through Sunday.  Cold waxes are 20%, see store for details.

The Snow Mountain Classic is Saturday, with the Winter Triathlon taking place Sunday at Devil's Thumb Ranch.  Check the details of this news item for wax recommendations from Boulder Nordic Sport, Swix and Toko.

We are also running a special race waxing special for the weekend.  See inside for details.

It should be easy to hit a wax that works well for this weekend's Colorado Cup races, but a little bit tougher to find the absolute perfect wax.  Low overnight temps combined with rapid warming make it difficult to predict the snow conditions.  We have some feedback from DU coaches and grind recommendations inside.   Read More...

We have a final update for the 2006-2007 Colorado Cup.  Check it out.  A great series with a lot of fun racing...

The 2006 Boulder Nordic Sport Thanksgiving Camp at Devil’s Thumb Ranch is rapidly approaching and there are a few spots remaining for the November 24-26th event.  The skiing is great in Colorado with Devil’s Thumb receiving an additional 6 inches of new snow in the past 2 days and is set to open this Friday!  With snow and great coaches there is no better time to improve your cross country skiing skills.

The next 15 skiers to sign up for the Camp will receive a $20 gift certificate to Boulder Nordic Sport.  To sign up or get more information please visit www.bouldernordicsport.com.  These pictures were taken at Devil’s Thumb Ranch November 14.

Things are silly busy here keeping up with everything that is going on.  We are frantically preparing for Yellowtone stone grinding and our Thanksgiving Camp at Devil's Thumb.  Look inside for updates on all of this, plus the boot availability and team order situation at our shop.

With the time change, we are moving our Thursday workouts to the morning.  Only the time will change and we will now meet at 6:30AM at the same locations as the old schedule.

Here is a link to the training and groups schedule

There is lots of skiing around in Colorado right now, which is amazing for October.  As of Saturday, Oct 28 Breckenridge had 6km groomed with track and skating lane.  Skiers who had been there called it good, but thin and will probably melt out.  Eldora is rolling the trails with snowmobile and they are allowing Boulder Nordic Club members with season passes to ski on the trails.  Several people have reported 2-3 feet of coverage and excellent skiing on a large percentage of Eldora's trails.  Devil's Thumb received 2 feet of snow from the latest storm.  The ground is not frozen yet, so they can't take out the large machine, but they are rolling with a snowmobile and should have some excellent trails before their scheduled opening Nov 17.

Reports from Rabbit Ears pass are also excellent.

   Enjoy!
